Since the end of December I have had a secret and only now can I reveal it. I am going to be, although not sure when, Mother of the Bride. My daughter, Sarah got engaged last night. Her boyfriend, Mikey had taken her to Paris for Valentines Weekend and proposed to her last night over a dinner.
Although I maybe tempted fate by getting this card done before I heard, it helped me to wile away the hours yesterday. At first all I knew was that I wanted to use red, white and blue - the colours of the french flag - for the card. But what I would do with them I didn't know until I saw the layout for A Gem of a Challenge's first challenge.
How did I put it together - out came my bug and I used the concentric hearts, using only the smallest of the heart, and cut out a heart in red, white and blue. The white heart was embossed with Roses folder. The oval and scalloped oval were done with nestiabilities. I added 3 buttons and 3 brads in red, white and blue and added a bit of red velvet ribbon.
I have also decided to enter it into a few challenges, A Gem of A Challenge for the layout, and Simon Says, Cute Card Thursday, Totally Gorjuss, Penny's Challenge and Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog which all have a love theme.
Thanks for popping by.
